Erzulie
I came across my client while watching a documentary about Haitian Vodou. The reporter is given the opportunity of attending a Vodou ceremony in honor of the Haition god of the graveyard. While wittnessing the surreal rituals a beautyful girl emerges from the crowd an aproaches him confidently. She stops but a few feet in front of him. Other ritual members tell him that she's possessed by Erzulie Dantor the goddess of love, art, sex and sensuality asking for his hand in marriage and awaiting an immediate response. Speechless, the reporter experiencing a combination of fear and attraction agrees. The girl kisses him, hugs him and disappears as he is told that - should he ever have sex on a thursday with a woman other than her - he'll die.
While doing my research into the goddess i stumbled across a key phrase which  fits astoundingly well to my approach to the topic: "Emotions are what link her to the endless reservoir of creativity."
Adding the issues of the supernatural and Vodou would go beyond the scope of the concept. I'm much more interested in the girl herself - I was thrilled by her confident, seductive and natural character and her exotic and intimitating impact at the same time. Considering my witch I'm not thinking of conventional broom riding old hag but of an actual woman - magical by charsima, a kind of femme fatale. In this context Haiti and Vodou only stand for the unknown which to my mind is one of the main reasons why society was lead to declare a woman a witch.
